I served in the Dominican Republic as the president of Seminario Bautista Internacional (www.sbi.edu.do) until 2021. Our work there was one of revitalization, leading the seminary to go from an institute level to an undergraduate level. We were grateful to work with a committed team that is mostly national in it professorship and administration. My family moved to Spain last year for health reasons, in God’s providence. I now serve in southeastern Spain, in the province of Alicante, as a church planter.

Hello, I am Bruce Burkholder. My wife Lisa and I have served with Editorial EBI for seventeen years. Prior to that we served in Mexico City, planting the Iglesia Bautista de Fe and also starting the Seminario Bautista Independiente. I served as the Director of the seminary and then taught a variety of courses over the years. It was a goal to stay in Mexico until retirement, but God had other plans. I developed serious heart disease that forced us back to the States. In 2018 I finished a DMin at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School with an emphasis on missions. My doctoral project was "A Strategic Plan to encourage the pursuit of an accreditation model among Independent Baptist Pastoral Training Schools in Spanish Speaking Latin America." One of our passions at EBI is to publish theological resources that can be used as seminary textbooks. I also serve as the interim director of STEP. I look forward to learning about and serving BMM theological education missionaries and ministries.

Hi. I'm Scott Kenson (pseudonym). I work in a restricted access area of the world (hence the pseudonym). I spent 8 years teaching in a seminary at the master's level in a RAN, which gave me a lot of experience teaching non-western students, which led me to write my doctoral dissertation on teaching hermeneutics to non-western learners. When we were unable to return to the RAN in which we had been serving, the Lord led our family to another nearby country. We now work in a more rural area, helping with a church plant, and training less educated men (highschool education or lower) how to be pastors in more rural areas. All this experience has taught me much about how to shape pastoral training to fit the social and cultural needs of the society (rural pastors with a highschool education need different training than urban pastors who hold a master's degree). Working in church plants in two different countries, in two different settings (urban and rural) has given me much appreciation for what different churches need from their pastors. I hope to learn much from our discussions on this platform, and pray that our discussions will be mutually beneficial as we seek to serve the Lord in our various ministries. Scott
